The University of Alabama considers campus safety a top priority. To this end, the University has created a a Behavioral Intervention Team and a Threat Assessment Specialist position to review, assess, identify, and mitigate potential behavioral threats. The BIT utilizes standardized procedures and best practices in an effort to provide early intervention and support in an attempt to prevent a behavioral concern regarding a student from rising to a dangerous situation. The threat assessment program provides a proactive, multi-disciplinary, and structured approach to situations which may reasonably pose a potentially violent threat to the UA environment.
